Second Annual 4th of July Parade

This year's annual kids parade around the block went off well. Teddy helped out by riding the cart part of the way around the block. Angus, of course, pulled the cart. Ever since the day I rode the cart and "drove" him around the block, he's been horrible with the leash while carting. He wants to take off and race around the block at his own big dog pace. So getting him to slow to Teddy's pace was really pretty exhuasting for me. All the neighbor kids and adults enjoyed seeing them performing. And it was fun to get out with Angus and the cart.
On another note, I had a physical exam just before we left to go get Teddy at the end of May, and was diagnosed with migraines. I've really had about 3 or so headaches a week for over a year, and thought it was sinus headaches or something. So my doctor prescribed Topamax as a preventive and Imitrex to take if a headache occurred. At first the Imitrex was fine and actually worked. But then the Topamax began to make me really tired, absolutely without any appetite, and I developed a headache that was debilitating and lasted 3 weeks. I lost 15 pounds during those 3 weeks. Until I gave up on the Topamax and said, "this is crazy, why am I taking something that is making me feel so horrible?" As it turns out, Topamax AND Imitrex have a drug interaction with one of my other medications that causes terrible neurological side effects.
So now, I'm back to a headache a few times a week. But I have a new appreciation of them since the 3 week headache. They are minor compared to that. And, I'm still losing weight (-20 lbs now). And I'm able to enjoy my puppy and my other dogs, and Dale, and everything again. Oy!
